Have you ever bought a sugar cane stalk from a local grocery store without knowing how to eat it properly?
1.Take a sharp knife and a chopping board.
2. Cut the stem into sections between the segments, as the end of each segment is woody and inedible.
3. Start at the top and slowly, gently cut off about a millimetre to remove the outer wood layer.
4. If you look at the central part, you will see fibrous veins – this is where the sweet sugar juice is contained.
5. Pull out some fibers.
6.Chew like gum, squeezing out sweet juice. Spit out the fibers when they stop being sweet.
